Kommunizm (band)

Kommunizm are a Russian conceptual art collective from Omsk. The band was formed in 1988 and broke up in 1990. Initially a studio-only project, in 2010 they re-united to play live. Kommunizm was founded as side-project of cult Siberian band Grazhdanskaya Oborona by Yegor Letov, Oleg Sudakov, and Konstantin Ryabinov.
The band was very prolific - they released ten albums throughout 1989. A lot of these albums were never reissued, however some were reissued in 2003 on the XOP label, while in 2007 some were remastered and reissued with bonus tracks by Misteria Zvuka. Two albums were reissued on vinyl with bonus tracks in 2011 by Neuro Empire's Stanzmarke imprint. ''Leniniana'' was remastered and reissued in 2013 by Wyrgorod with bonus tracks. The rest of their discography is due to be remastered by Wyrgorod, including those albums already remastered by Stanzmarke and Misteria, and reissued throughout late 2013 and early 2014. It will include these albums previously only available from pirated cassettes. The first four albums to be reissued were ''Na sovetskoi skorosti'', ''Rodina slyshit'', ''Chudo-muzyka'' and ''Narodovedenie'', reissued on 5 December 2013. The next batch of albums to be reissued was ''Suleiman Stalsky'', ''Zhizn chto skazka'' and ''Trinadtsat'' on 31 January 2014.
